I admire people who speak more than one language, but the Indian "tech" person was absolutely useless.

I was on Adobe chat line last night for 3 hours.

So I have no other options but to do electronic downloads of ALL of my software. My new computer came with Mavericks already loaded on it! I did not choose it. So my discs are useless (I have tons of them including Microsoft Office and many art programs) Put another way, Apple no longer make their machines with a disc drive (their seniotr techs have informed me of this). My old computer was a lemon and was replaced by Apple with their latest Mac Book Pro which DOES NOT HAVE A DISC DRIVE. Might anyone have any opionions on this too? The main issue above, however, is most important! I have read so many complaints about Mavericks 10.9 and compatability issues with so many software products including Adobe (especially Adobe Creative Suites and Photoshop) that I am already thinkn' I should dump Mavericks and reinstall Snow Lion. Please heeeeeeelp me figure out which Reader version I should install! NOTE, I can't use the update, I need the whole version, starting from scratch, so to speak. Thought this would be easy, but there is so much goobly gook and a gazillion products for every kinf of scenario, I can't figure it out! My Chat with Adobe's Chat Line in India was worthless! Since I don't have any Adobe stuff now, I tried to download their "Adobe Reader", a free item.

I started with trying to download CS5.5 from Adobe's site, but the site says I need to have another Adobe product open on my desktop. Now I have quite the job ahead reinstalling all my software since my new Mac has no disk drive, preventing me from using all my software installation CD's such as Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite 5.5, etc, etc. I just got a replacement for my older Mac Book Pro from mid 2011- which completely bit the dust.
